Is Cosmetic Surgery the new MUSTHAVE ?!

By

Addictive?

Its not surprising to see many being accused of Plastic Surgery Addiction. Like everybody else, they want to look their best and low self esteem leads them to surgeons clinics looking for correction and a better mirror reflection. The problem comes when having the necessity or not, body improvements thru surgery become first in priority list. Many people suffer everyday thinking plastic surgery is the only way to look acceptably pretty, forgetting that its the inside what matter most.

This is not a celebrity thing... almost every woman i know have think about surgery at least once. And of course, society don't help. Much less does the media, which focus on anorexic skinny females and noticeable fake boobs as the perfect woman. If you don't look like you're dying, you can't model. And are too fat.

Its totally wrong to think looks are the only important thing. So many other qualities you may have, and you only care about breast implants? I forgot; 36c will get you a better job than 34b, right?? Oh but don't forget a lipo + tummy-tuck so your implants look better. Despite the long ugly scarf, a flat stomach is what you need. Until you notice your butt is not round enough, your nose is too pointy, your ears are not the same size and you have wrinkles... at 28? No way. You better fix all that no matter how much it costs!

Celebrities with Surgery

Pamela Anderson started all with her Baywatch fake boobs that barely fitted her bikini. And since her days on TV, surgery have become not only popular but accepted on society and almost required for the media. Sabrina Sabrok [biggest breast in the world] is a good example, making clear that if you have big breast you can be famous. Yeah, even if you don't have any talent you might have the luck. Courtney Cox, Le Ann Rimes, Heidi Montag, Megan Fox, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kim Kardashian are only a couple of celebrities we can mention that have a Boob Job, being that the no. 1 favorite surgery and having about 320,000 procedures in USA on 2010. Nose jobs and lip augmentation are very popular among celebrities too, but undoubtedly the winner procedure, with more than 2 million injections in 2010 is Bot-ox!

But what about the great Michael Jackson and his skin color changing procedures?

Too Much?

Recently, artists like Heidi Montag [more than 10 surgeries] have being put on the Addiction Spotlight. But when is enough? Ask the "real life Barbie" Sarah Burge, who with over 100 surgeries; is not surprising that she gained her spot on the Guiness Book of World Records. Or transexual performer of 2008 Allanah Starr with more than 300 surgeries to become a female. We have our scary looking Jocelyn Wildenstein who spend $4 million becoming ugly and she's not the only one. Take a look at Lizard man and CatMan.......... they just can't get any uglier and have spend thounsands of dollars becoming scary.

I guess after all beauty is really on the eye of the beholder! Or under some super rich and famous plastic surgeon's knive.

Surgery may be the only way out

Some struggle with their excessive overweight, a bad malformation or a too stretched and ugly belly due to too many cesareans. This or other reasons may take you under the knife, since now days almost anything is fixable. A gastric bypass may be the solution for your problem, or it may worsen it. Its definitely life changing and could save one's life. Laser eye surgery is one of the most common surgeries, improving individuals life quality and giving an instant confidence boost. Like this, a hip or knee replacement may be needed to live well.

Indisputably, surgery is sometimes needed... but when talking about cosmetic procedures, there's always another way out!

Here's some healthier ways to avoid surgery:

  • Gym - Zumba - Pilates
  • Tasty food = Healthy
  • a Dog?
  • Yoga [relaxing] or Pole Dancing [exotic]

At the end of the day, it's your choice whetter you get plastic surgery or not... but know that there is other [less expensive and healthier] ways to achieve a good looking body. Beware that plastic surgery is not only the new most have but its also highly addictive!

When goes Wrong

Pain, infection, excessive scarring, disfigurement, hematomas, asymmetry, necrosis, blood clots, death... no one expect nor want their procedure to go wrong or too suffer a long and painful recovery. Even when the statistics are very low, things happen, and when surgery doesn't go well, there might be more than one reason why.

Not only poor practice can give you a surgery nightmare, but the way your body reacts is very important too. Having good Iron levels is a must and following the doctor's instructions always is the better way to avoid unwanted situations. But before even getting a procedure done, the most important thing to do is verify doctor credentials, seek his patients testimonies, pictures, etc.. If you don't investigate well the person who is going to make a live changing 'improvement' in you, you might be at risk of ending with a good price and bad medical care.

Its no joke that people die everyday because they didn't took the time to find a skilled surgeon with good background... or simply they chose to recieve cheap quality instead of paying a little bit more.

I still believe that God has given us what we deserve and what fits us. That is why we should avoid surgeries because this has side effects and needs maintenance.
